Youths and Nation-building – Ahmed Yusuf

Parents, religious leaders in Nigeria have been challenged to effectively play their expected roles by preparing youths with strong character strength and also assist them to develop good morals.

An Abuja-based businessman and politician, Ahmed Yusuf made the call in Ilorin the Kwara State capital while delivering a keynote speech with the theme: Credible Character Backed with Capacity, the Vehicles Towards State and National Development’ at a colloquium in honor of Engineer Sunday Babalola who recently clocked 65 years.

Ahmed Yusuf blamed parents and religious leaders for the bad moral character among young people adding that religious leaders have in their sermons unfortunately laid emphasis on prosperity rather than piety.

Yusuf however advised the youths to aspire to be good leaders rather than being dealers by going through the tutelage of leadership.

In his remarks, the President of the Zealous Kwara Youths, John Adegboye maintained that Kwara was lagging behind other states in the country and that it has not gotten the leadership it deserves adding that all hands must be on deck ahead of the 2023 general election.
