In a significant stride towards combatting crime and criminality, the Delta State Police Command has achieved a significant breakthrough. Acting on multiple complaints from residents of Ekpan and nearby areas about the activities of kidnappers and armed robbers, Commissioner of Police CP Wale Abass psc deployed CSP Aliyu Shaba to Ekpan Police Station. With a clear mandate to restore safety, Shaba led a combined team of police officers from the Ekpan division and military personnel from the 3rd Battalion Nigerian Army Ekpan.
Executing a meticulously planned operation on July 3, 2023, at approximately 4:00 PM, the team raided a hideout situated at Agadaga Avenue, off Jakpa Road, Ekpan. Acting on credible intelligence, the operation resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and other items associated with criminal activities.

The recovered items included: one AK-47 rifle with five loaded magazines, totalling 161 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one assault rifle with two loaded magazines, totalling 59 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and two English pump-action guns, 110 rounds of live cartridges, one double barrel gun, one single-barrel gun, one toy gun, several bladed weapons, such as cutlasses, a bundle of charms wrapped in a cap.
The Police Command is currently intensifying efforts to apprehend the members of the criminal syndicate responsible for these activities.
Commissioner of Police CP Wale Abass psc urges the public, particularly the residents of Delta State, to cooperate and support the police in their ongoing fight against crime. The Commissioner encourages citizens to provide any relevant information that can assist in these endeavours.
