Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom State, led members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pay a visit to the incumbent Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel at the Hilltop Mansion, Government House, Uyo. This visit took place on Sunday evening following the Governor-elect’s victory in the March 18 gubernatorial election.
During the visit, Governor Emmanuel expressed his gratitude to the people of the state for electing Pastor Umo Eno, noting that the election results were the best answer to the negative comments from critics. The Governor-elect was described as a man with a large heart and a symbol of peace which the state is known for. Governor Emmanuel urged everyone to join hands with the government to move the state forward.
Pastor Umo Eno, in turn, thanked God for the honour bestowed on him and appreciated the people of Akwa Ibom State for entrusting him with their mandate. He pledged to consolidate the achievements of the present administration by deepening the peace the state has been known for and promised a government of inclusiveness.

The Governor-elect stated that his victory heralds the advent of a golden era for the people of the state and urged fellow contestants to put their differences aside and join hands to build the state. He assured the people that his administration will be marked by hard work and happy moments.
