New research reveals that there are several diseases that can cause a person to lose weight quickly. These diseases include gastrointestinal tract problems like gastritis, ulcers, gallbladder issues, and stomach cancer.
Apart from these, cancer is another disease that can lead to weight loss as well as skin color changes, hair loss, and broken nails. Furthermore, hormonal imbalances and endocrine disorders like thyrotoxicosis, which is related to the thyroid gland, and pheochromocytoma, a disease of the adrenal glands, can also cause rapid weight loss.
Another disorder that is responsible for rapid weight loss is anorexia nervosa. It mainly affects young girls under the age of 25 who have a fear of obesity. In this disorder, a person refuses to eat in order to lose weight.

These diseases can exist in a person’s body for years without being detected, and they devour essential micronutrients that the human body requires.
