Following the viral video circulation on social media, the video shows some armed uniform men shooting and driving away Chief Nwosu in Imo State, the spokesman to the state police command has responded that Chief Nwosu was not kidnapped, but arrested by the police command.
In his statement, he informed the members of the public that “this is to inform the general public that Chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and the Imo state police command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody.”
He said, “This is to refute the earlier news that has been making the rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons/gunmen.”
The Commissioner of Police, also using the opportunity to assure Imolites of the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of life and prosperity during this yuletide season, advised the general public to always shun fake news.
