Officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on night patrol in Maryland apprehended two vandals with 240mm armored cable tied in three rolls.
Tairu Bello (31) and Bishir Abubakar (32) were apprehended about 5:00 a.m. today near Idi – Iroko, close to Anthony Village, while putting three rolls of 240mm cable into danfo.
They verified that the cable was taken out of the earth at Idi Iroko and was being moved to Mile-12, from where it will be transported to Owode Onirin.
The total length of the three cables is believed to be more than 160 feet.
Two shovels, two diggers, a saw blade, a hammer, and a chisel were recovered from the vandals. Hakeem Odumosu, the Commissioner of Police, has asked the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, to charge the accused in court.
