Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans, the Billionaire Kidnapper has been sentenced to death by hanging. Evans, a native of Nnewi in Anambra State was tracked by the Nigeria Police Force for four years before he was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday 11 June 2017.
While in kidnapping operations, Evans demands hard currencies from his victims, he receives US dollars, UK pounds and other foreign currencies for ransom.
In a court trial, Director of Public Prosecutions Ms Titilayo Shitta-Bey said Evans breached sections 269 (abduction from custody of parents) and 409 (Preparation to commit crimes with explosives, etc.) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
