NAGGMDP Extend Ultimatum by 8-weeks Over Poor Welfare

The National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), Kwara State Chapter has made a U-turn from its earlier decision to embark on strike issuing another 8-week ultimatum; this is coming after the expiration of a 21-day ultimatum issued to the state government as their demands are yet to be met.

The State Chairman of the Union, Dr. Saka Agboola who disclosed this during a press briefing in Ilorin the Kwara State capital said the rationale behind the Union’s decision at the eleventh hour was based on proactive steps taken by the state government to address their demands.

The Chairman of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners, Kwara State Chapter Dr. Saka Agboola said the decision to extend the ultimatum by eight weeks is borne out of empathy for the general public adding that the state government has shown serious concern on their demand.

Agboola however charged government at all levels to live up to its responsibilities by addressing the challenge of brain-drain amongst the medical doctors by giving priority to their pay package to motivate them.

Government at all levels must value the health of Nigerians by funding the sector appropriately to guarantee healthy citizenry.
