In a pull-out parade on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, welcomes the new Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi.
The governor said, “I attended the pull-out parade of former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, now Assistant Inspector General, Hakeem Odumosu.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu described the outgoing commissioner of police CP Hakeem Odumosu as the “nemesis” of criminally-minded elements in the state. He noted,
According to him, “Lagos was safe under him as the Police Chief, and we described him as the “nemesis” of criminally-minded elements. Mr. Odumosu was a hands-on police officer who had a deep knowledge of the nooks and crannies of the state.”
“During his duty tour, Odumosu attended to his constitutional duties with vigor, courage and he led officers serving in the State’s Police Command from the front throughout his tenure as Commissioner.”
“Tango One, as we all call him, came with a wealth of experience and new approaches to pursue effective policing. Those approaches led to an improvement in the security of lives and property in Lagos. He came, he saw, and he is bequeathing a well-informed and motivated police command to officers serving in Lagos. He discharged his duties with diligence and emerged as an outstanding police officer.”
The governor expressed his happiness to attend the farewell occasion, he says AIG Odumosu deserves the celebration.
Meanwhile, the governor implores the new commissioner of police CP Abiodun Alabi, and his officers in Lagos Command to ensure renewed commitment to fighting crime and ensuring public safety to the point where the state is the envy of the rest of the country.
