Chief Ernest Shonekan, who led the Interim National Government that replaced General Ibrahim Babangida’s dictatorship, has died.
Shonekan died at the age of 85 in Lagos.
He served as the temporary President of Nigeria from August 26 to November 17, 1993, when he was deposed in a coup orchestrated by late General Sani Abacha.
For many years, he served as Chairman of UAC Conglomerate.
