Dr. Ahmad BUK, a well-known Islamic scholar, died in Kano

Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Ibrahim Bamba, also known as Kala Haddasana, a prominent Islamic scholar, died on Friday.
The death was verified by family members and BBC Hausa.

He was a well-known hadith expert who used to lecture at the BUK Mosque before opening his own Darul Hadith mosque.

He died at the Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

The funeral will be placed after Friday prayers at the Darul Hadis Mosque in Kano’s Tudun Yola neighborhood, according to the family.

Abdul, one of his sons, told the BBC Hausa service that his father died when he was about 82 years old, leaving behind 30 children.

Kala Haddasana, as he is better known, was born and raised in Ghana.

He returned to Nigeria after earning a degree in Saudi Arabia to pursue a Ph.D. at Bayero University in Kano.
