The Lagos State Police Command has indeed shown its obligation to the protection of lives and property of the residents as it saved the existence of a moderately aged man who endeavored to end it all in Lagos as of late.
The episode occurred in the early hours of the fifteenth September 2021 when one Akinlolu Ajayi, 54, a staff of LSDPC Town Planning, Ilupeju, inhabitant at No.1, Owodunni Street, Oworonsoki was seen on the Third Mainland Bridge attempting to hop into the tidal pond at the UNILAG waterfront.
The anti-crime patrol team of the Bariga Police Division on a routine patrol of the area immediately rescued the man and took him into protective custody.
The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, having coordinated that the man’s family ought to be reached for important activity, requests to individuals from the public not to end their own lives regardless of the difficulties they are presently confronting. As indicated by the CP, such difficulties are just transient. The Police manager further cautions that a particularly condemnable demonstration isn’t just ethically off-base but on the other hand is criminal.
In the interim, the suspect has been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department for examination and resulting arraignment.
