Several vehicles and other road users are presently trapped between Ilorin, Kwara State’s capital, and Oyo State due to the collapse of the Moro bridge in the state’s Asa local government area.
According to our journalist who inspected the route, hundreds of trapped users of the road and bridge are pleading with the federal authorities to intervene immediately.
Moro Bridge serves as an intra- and inter-state link between Kwara and Oyo States; however, the road has been abandoned and is currently in poor condition.
Users of the road and bridge are urging the federal and state administrations to expedite actions to close the infrastructural gap and reopen the facilities to traffic.
Attempts to reach the Kwara state commissioner for works, Rotimi Iliasu, for comment on the predicament of road and bridge users were futile since he did not answer his calls and text messages at the time of writing the article.
