INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY: FCT POLICE RESTRICT VEHICULAR MOVEMENT AROUND THE EAGLE SQUARE

In view of events lined up for the 61st Independence Anniversary Celebration on Friday, 1st October 2021, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has emplaced proactive security measures to ensure hitch-free celebrations. The CP noted that these measures include restriction of vehicular movements on roads leading to Eagle Square where the Independence Anniversary parade and other adjoining programs would hold.

The CP further noted that in collaboration with other sercurity agencies , there will be intensive confidence boosting patrols, coordinated stop/search operations and other intelligence-based crime fighting efforts around other places of public resorts such as recreational parks, residential areas, major highways, amongst others, to prevent any untoward situation throughout the period of the celebrations and beyond.
