TCN restores bulk power supply to northern states following the repair of the vandalized 330kV Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line, resuming transmission to Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored bulk power transmission to several northern states following the completion of repairs on the vandalized 330kV Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line 1. This critical line, which was restored at 4:56 pm today, is now supplying electricity to Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe states.

According to TCN, the restoration of this line has enabled the Apir-Lafia 330kV transmission line 2 to resume operations, enhancing electricity supply to these key regions. In a continued effort to stabilize power delivery, TCN’s engineering team is set to begin work on the second 330kV transmission line as soon as site security is confirmed.

“All necessary materials are ready, and the safety of our personnel is our top priority,” TCN stated. Additionally, linesmen are being deployed to patrol the second line to identify and address any other issues that may arise during the ongoing repairs.

The company expressed gratitude to the affected communities for their patience and reassured the public of its commitment to restoring power swiftly and effectively.
