1. Avoid Cold And Overly Breezy Places
As a sickle cell patient try as much as possible to avoid overly breezy and cold places because this usually has an averse effect on your health. If you have a friend or colleague who is SS, ensure to always remind them to avoid such places so they don’t fall ill or have a crisis. Try as much as possible to avoid places like the beach, etc
2. Avoid Strenuous Exercises And Sports
This is a must because most SS are not as strong as other people with a different genotype. So stay away from exercise and sports that exerts a lot of energy and effort so it doesn’t take a toll on your body.
3. Avoid Being Alone
This is one of the most important things to not do as a sickle cell patient. Ensure to always be with people you love, and people who are aware that you are SS, in case you fall into a crisis, they would know what to do, who to call and where to take you
4. Avoid Not Being With Your Drugs
Always be with your drugs all the time, this is very important. Ensure to have your drugs with you no matter where you are going because you can never tell when you will fall into a crisis
5. Avoid Being Silent
As a sickle cell patient always speak out especially when you are in pain. Never feel you are complaining too much, always express how you feel at every given time. Let you loved ones know about the state of your health all the time.
6. Avoid Lacking Water
Water is very important for sickle cell patients, hence having it with you at all times is a compulsory act
