WAEC Unveils Digital Certificate Platform (VIDEO)

In its more than 70 years of existence, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Africa’s premier examination body, has continued to witness a paradigm change in technological development.

The Council has improved its service delivery to stakeholders in a number of ways by utilizing technology. Some of the ground-breaking accomplishments thus far include the switch from candidate physical registration to online registration, online results verification, and online result printing.

WAEC Nigeria is getting closer to launching the eagerly anticipated WAEC Digital Certificate Platform, furthering its aim of fostering moral and academic excellence, enabling sustainable human resource development, and fostering international cooperation.

This platform is a mobile and web-based application with sophisticated features that allow users to access, share, request, confirm certificates, and recover lost WAEC candidates’ examination numbers. It was created exclusively for candidates, individuals, institutions, and organizations.

At a time when the entire world has gone digital, the West African Examinations Council is glad and delighted to introduce this innovation. This further demonstrates that the Council upholds its vision of being a top-tier assessing body, offering value to its stakeholders’ educational objectives by promptly resolving the bureaucratic impediments related to the academic credentials.

Stakeholders now have an easier, quicker, and safer way to get certifications thanks to the Digital Platform. Users will be able to retrieve burned, lost, and damaged certificates using this digital platform.

The advantages of this innovation are immense since candidates who have taken the WASSCE in the past and present may easily access and exchange the original copies of their certificates, which can be immediately verified from a competent and reliable source, wherever they are.

Institutions, groups, and employment agencies can easily confirm many credentials at once in bulk or individually. Fraud is completely eliminated by the trustworthiness and legitimacy of this confirmation on the digital platform.

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, the product will be unveiled or launched. This new WAEC Digital Certificate Platform, created to remove the bureaucratic bottlenecks connected with the manual procedures of certificate issuing and collection, is encouraged to be used by the general public and all stakeholders.

You can access the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform online at www.waec.org. The mobile app is available for download from the iOS and Android app stores. Stakeholders can go to www.waecnigeria.org and www.waecdirect.ng for further information.
