Thomas Tuchel to get exceptional transfer control to match Liverpool and Man City

Thomas Tuchel will get close control of Chelsea’s transfers under Todd Boehly’s ownership, according to a story in the Telegraph today.

Matt Law is one of the best connected writers around when it comes to goings on behind the scenes at Chelsea, and his piece is pretty in depth about changes to come at the club.

He writes that in a move meant to help the Blues close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool, Chelsea’s new owner will look to entrust his coach with as much power as possible when it comes to choosing players.

That has not been a good strategy at Chelsea over the years because of the constant turnover of managers, but if Boehly believes in Tuchel’s long term future, it makes sense to back his judgement in the transfer market too.

There have been whispers of a big budget to come, but that will all depend on what sales can be made too
