Shomolu Local Government Chairman Rehabilitates Public School Buildings

Staff and pupils of Agunbiade Primary in Somolu were thrown into a jubilant mood as their school wore a new look with the intervention of the Council Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, whose administration just rehabilitated the 52-year old primary school.

While delivering the school to the Education Secretary of Somolu Local Government Education Authority, Hon. Dare Martins, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu assured the school’s parents forum and management that the educational institution will enjoy a robust benefit from the local government.

According to Mrs. F.O. Oloyede, the Head Teacher of Agunbiade Primary School, the former state of the school has reduced the enrollment of pupils into the school like the roof, doors, and windows were falling off. She said the new building will make teaching and learning more conducive for the teachers and pupils too. She extolled the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, for fulfilling his promises in the area of education and other sectors too.

Among the delegates of the local government to Agunbiade Primary School include Hon. Hon Yomi Osunkoya (Leader, Somolu Legislative Council) with other councilors, Mrs. Arinola Shodipo (Council-Manager), Hon. Olubiyi Afolarin (Chief of Staff) with other aides of the Council Chairman as well as other management staff.

However, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu assured residents that the ongoing Wesley Primary School will soon be completed and delivered to the Education Authority. He said he giving the residents of Somolu the best to compliment the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

Meanwhile, citing consistency and humility in governance, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, a.k.a. Dullar has also embarked on the distribution of monthly welfare packages to the senior citizens in his area for the month of February 2022.

Earlier, before the commencement, the Chairman, accompanied by Mrs. Florence Salawu (Wife), Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi (Vice-Chairman), and Mrs. Mariam Salawu (Chairperson), lauded the unswerving resilience and support of the elderly toward the development of the community.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Florence seized the moment to share her satisfaction amid the encomium received by the audience, while Mrs. Mariam reemphasized the continuance of the programme and urged the people to get their ‘Permanent Voters Card’ (PVC) done before the full electioneering campaign ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

Maintaining the same tempo with the aforementioned dignitaries, Hon. Femi Adebiyi Taiwo (Outgoing APC Chairman) narrated the essence that warranted the launching of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT) Foot Soldiers at the grassroots, requesting the unrelenting support of the people, which he considered a necessity irrespective of age, gender, and culture.

Joining the people’s Mayor to deliver today’s task were Hon. Lateef Ashimi (Chief Whip, Somolu Legislative Arms), Hon. Afolarin Olubiyi (Chief of Staff), Hon. Abosede Ogunlaja led Somolu Apex Women Leader, Chief Adedapo Oduguwa (CDC Chairman), Alhaji Tella Tajudeen (CDC Treasurer), Hon. Rasak Tajudeen (Erstwhile SA on Market Affairs), Hon. Adewale Oseni (Former Supervisory Councilor for Agric & Social Services), Dullar Ladies, among others.
