Schoolchildren and passersby were killed in a truck accident

The Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, spoke about the truck accident at Ogunusi Road, Grammar School bus stop, Ojodu Berger.

He stated that at 2:56 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, the agency got a distress call concerning a truck mishap on Ogunusi Road, Grammar School Bus-stop, Ojodu Berger in Lagos State.

According to him, information received at the site from Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) officers indicated that an unidentifiable truck lost control and rammed into pupils on their way home from school.

Some victims suffered serious injuries as a result of the tragedy, while others were discovered dead.

This regrettable occurrence prompted several eyewitnesses to attempt to lynch police officers, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) personnel, and other first responders at the scene, damaging automobiles and other property.

At the time of reporting, the number of fatalities and wounded could not be determined.

He further disclosed that the miscreants’ onslaught forced the emergency team to return to base since the site was unstable and hazardous for rescue and recovery operations.

According to another report to ngrDesk, officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) patrol teams and divisional police units have restored normality to the Grammar School area of Ojodu – Berger after a truck allegedly rammed into schoolchildren.

The exact number of victims is unknown at this time.

The region is now quiet and safe for motorists. RRS police are scouring adjacent streets for troublemakers.

CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, Commander RRS, has summoned extra patrol units to strengthen up security in the region.
