Governor Nyesom Wike Declares Public Holiday for President-elect Bola Tinubu’s Arrival
Rivers State was buzzing with excitement today as Governor Nyesom Wike declared a public holiday to welcome President-elect Bola Tinubu to the state. The festivities began at the Port Harcourt International Airport, where a colorful entourage made up of government officials, National and State Assembly members, local government chairmen, and government appointees welcomed the President-elect.

The two-day official visit was highlighted by the commissioning of the Rumuola/Rumuokwuta Flyover and the ultra-modern Magistrates’ Court Complex in Port Harcourt. This marks the first time a President-elect has been hosted on an official state visit that included the commissioning of projects.

The Governor hosted a state banquet in honor of the President-elect later in the day, which was eagerly anticipated by the people of Rivers State. The event showcased the culture and traditions of the region and was a demonstration of the state’s warm hospitality.
