Report: League champions now confident they will sign £100k-a-week Chelsea player this summer

Serie A champions AC Milan are reportedly growing confident of signing Chelsea player Hakim Ziyech this summer.

According to Sky Italy, Milan and Chelsea are involved in ongoing discussions about the type of deal for the 29-year-old winger.

The report explains the Italian league champions now have confidence they’ll bring the £100,000-a-week star to the San Siro during this transfer window.

Ziyech, who was in and out of the Chelsea line-up last season, hasn’t quite hit his best form during two years at Stamford Bridge.

He’s an extremely talented left-footed attacker with a wand of a left foot. However, Blues fans haven’t seen him perform at his best consistently enough for their club.

The red side of Milan believe there’s a deal to be made for Ziyech this summer, albeit the report doesn’t specify whether that would be a permanent or loan transfer.

He’s scored only 14 goals and made 10 assists in 83 Chelsea appearances since a move to West London, so his potential exit isn’t something that should scare fans too much.

It may be no coincidence that Thomas Tuchel’s side are already linked with signing some new attackers.

Chelsea’s talks to sign Manchester City winger are reportedly “progressing well”. It’s been claimed the chase to sign Leeds United wide man Raphinha is taking a twist, though, with Barcelona still in the hunt to get him.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Tuchel’s forward line looks likes come the opening day of the Premier League season, which is 6 August away to Everton.
