A middle-aged woman was reportedly crushed to death by a private car driver in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital, on Friday. According to an eyewitness, the accident reportedly happened around Arca Santa Event center, Ajase-Ipo road, Ilorin on Friday afternoon.
It was gathered that the accident involved a Toyota Camry (muscle) with registration number Lagos AAA 261 EX, which reportedly ran over a woman, who was reportedly sent on errands by her boss, operating a restaurant around the area.
The eyewitness further confirmed that it took the timely intervention of an operative of the Nigerian Police Force to save the driver of the car from a possible mob attack.
Confirming the incident, the Kwara state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jonathan Owoade, said the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the State General Hospital, Ilorin, while the vehicle and driver are in ‘A’ Division of the State Police Command.
