Presidential Candidate, Elderstatesman Alhaji Bashir Tofa is dead

The June 1993 election presidential contestant, Alhaji Bashir Tofa’s death, was announced this morning. In the June 1993 election contested against the late Chief Kashimawo Abiola of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in which Chief MKO apparently won.

The presidential election was later annulled by a close friend of Chief Moshood Abiola, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

Alhaji Bashir Tofa has reportedly died of a prolonged illness in the early hours of Tuesday, December 3, 2022.
