Oyo Government Released App for Land Files Tracking

Over the weekend, the Oyo State government introduced a smartphone app with several capabilities, including access to data on the selected landed property without having to visit the Ministry of Lands.

The mobile app, known as Ilè D’olà Exchange under the Private Networks Nigeria Limited (PNN) initiative, is the first of its kind in Nigeria, according to the Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Tpl Olayiwola Olusegun, and will allow residents of the state to make inquiries and suggestions on government services and receive faster responses.

The Commissioner stated this during a two-day retreat for the Ministry’s top management staff, adding that the initiative is part of strategic measures to shore up the State’s internally generated revenue.

He did, however, urge the workers attending the retreat to justify the state government’s trust and investment in them by arranging the capacity development retreat, which is aimed at learning new methods to speed up processes, reduce leakages, and enhance productivity.

AbdulRahman Abiola Odunowo, CEO/Managing Director of PNN, stated that the idea behind the new invention is to tap into the developing worldwide market with the goal of unleashing the full potential of technical advances in all land-related concerns.

He went on to say that by utilizing Ilè D’olà Exchange, the Ministry can now easily establish an enabling environment for both local and international investors, authenticate property ownership, and facilitate ownership transfer, among other things.

Odunowo, while unveiling the newly created app which provides for an online tracking system of files codenamed wár, stated that the App can easily be downloaded on the PlayStore and that it can now eliminate the cumbersomeness of files and unnecessary delays, and that it allows individuals to track their own files.

Other features of the App, according to Odunowo, include easy detection and location of files, as well as easy access for external users to download the App on the Play Store, adding that the wár App will be officially launched online on February 11th, 2022, noting that the App works for all files, both old and new, with their unique problems.

Tpl Ademola Bashir, Permanent Secretary, Ministry, pushed for collaboration in his remarks, while also expressing confidence in the Ministry’s staff members’ ability to perform admirably in the current fiscal year 2022.

With the caliber of the ministry’s rejuvenated personnel, he noted, problems experienced by residents in the acquisition of title of ownership, transfer of ownership, and land allocation will be a thing of the past.

Other attendees at the Retreat were the Ag. Surveyor General, Esv. Abiodun Alaba, the Chairman of the State Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Femi Awakan, and other ministry officials. This was announced to the press by Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Ph.D., Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism.
