N6.2 Billion Approved for 3rd Mainland Bridge Repair Works

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has shed light on the upcoming repair works on the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos, Nigeria. The repair work, which is set to cover 11 kilometres, including interchanges, ramps, and critical links, has been approved for N6.2 billion by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

During an interview on Channels Television, the Minister stated that he does not anticipate a complete closure of the bridge during the repair works. However, if necessary, any closures would likely take place on weekends to minimize inconvenience to commuters.

Furthermore, the Minister expressed doubt that the repair works would be completed during his remaining tenure, which is set to expire next month. Nevertheless, he assured the public that the repair works would be carried out as soon as possible to ensure the continued safety and functionality of the 3rd Mainland Bridge, a vital transportation artery in Lagos.
