Mohamed Salah Has Been ‘Promised’ A Shock Transfer To Barcelona

Barcelona have ‘promised’ Mohamed Salah a shock transfer to the Camp Nou when his Liverpool contract expires next summer.

The Catalan giants are keen to challenge for club football’s highest honours after a few years out in the wilderness.

Financial issues still blight the Blaugrana, but they plan to revamp their squad in a major way.

According to The Mirror, they’ve made contact with Salah and are a major part of why he’s not signed a new contract with the Reds.

Salah told friends he was ready to extend his stay on Merseyside, but delayed his decision after hearing of Barcelona’s interest.

The Egypt international helped Liverpool to a second place finish in the Premier League and won the Golden Boot with 23 goals. He also helped them to Carabao Cup and FA Cup glory.

Despite the uncertainty around his future, Salah is committed to Liverpool next season and confirmed his stance after the Champions League final.

He declared: “I don’t want to talk about the contract now, I’m staying next season for sure, that’s clear.”

Salah isn’t the only Liverpool forward who has been linked with a move away from Anfield.

Sadio Mane is expected to join Bayern Munich and replace Robert Lewandowski, who ironically wants to move to Barcelona.

The Senegal international refused to rule out a departure ahead of the Champions League final and made his intentions clear in the following days.

He broke his silence on Friday in a pre-match press conference and left everyone with more questions than answers.

Mane said: “Like everyone else, I’m on social media and I see the comments. Isn’t it between 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese that want me to leave Liverpool.
