Massive Delta State Police Raids Yield Arrests and Drug Seizures

In response to the growing criminal activities of armed robbers, kidnappers, and cultists in Ughelli, Warri, and other parts of Delta State, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Johnson Adenola, ordered a massive raid of the affected areas. The operation, led by Commander Dragon Patrol CSP Graham Imade, involved operatives from the command’s operations department, SIB, Dragon Patrol, Safer Highway, Raiders, CP D-Coy Squad, and Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Delta State Police Make Major Breakthrough in Fight Against Crime

On May 1, 2023, the team conducted intensive patrols and searches, acting on credible intelligence reports. The Commander led the raids on identified criminal hideouts at Evwreni, East-West Road, and other black spots in Ughelli North LGA. The operation led to the arrest of fifty-nine male suspects and ninety-four female suspected commercial sex workers.

The police recovered several illicit items from the suspects, including three pump action guns, one locally made cut-to-size gun, one dagger, ten live cartridges, one suspected stolen unregistered Toyota Venza, one unregistered Mercedes Benz, one Peugeot car with registration number KJA 98 GE, nine cups of loud, codeine syrup, sachets of swivel, twenty capsules of tramadol, and thirty-one wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp.

The ninety-four commercial sex workers and some male suspects have been charged in court, while others have been transferred to the command headquarters for further investigation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Johnson Adenola, has ordered the team to sustain the tempo and ensure that sanity is completely restored in the area. He also called on members of the public to provide useful information that could help the police in the fight against crime and criminality.
