LUKAKU AFTER CHELSEA EXIT: ‘INTER DON’T TALK BADLY ABOUT EACH OTHER’

Romelu Lukaku continues to outline the ‘family’ atmosphere he enjoys at Inter and did not get at Chelsea. ‘Nobody talks badly about anyone else, we are always positive.’

The striker was determined to come back just a year after his €113m transfer to Stamford Bridge and achieved that move on a one-season loan at a cost of €10m.

He also took a pay cut in order to make the move go through and speaking today at an event to present the 2022-23 home kit, the Belgium international expressed what he missed so much about Inter while playing for Chelsea.

“Our locker room is a big family. We spend a lot of time together off the field, we have big team dinners together. On the pitch too, nobody talks badly about anyone else, we are always positive,” said Lukaku.

“When there are big matches, there is always a player who wrote history with Inter before who will write to you on Instagram, send a message, and that all shows that Inter is a big family.”

The forward also confirmed he kept his apartment in Milan fully furnished throughout his time at Chelsea.

During the Q&A on the stage, he leaned over to teammate Nicolò Barella and giggled about why this season was his biggest challenge.

“I left. It was a mistake, right Nico?” he laughed.

Barella reacted with a shrug that Italians will know means ‘I tried to warn you…’

As part of the presentation, Lukaku also took the microphone and spoke to the fans outside the club headquarters.

“I promise we will do everything to win the Scudetto.
