LAUTECH Bans Students from Driving on Campus After Motor Accident

The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has issued a statement banning all forms of driving by students on campus. The decision, which came after a recent motor accident within the university, was made to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.

In the statement issued by the University Registrar, Dr. K. A. Ogunleye, on Tuesday, 18 April, 2023, students were informed that their vehicles are no longer allowed on campus. The ban includes vehicles without registration numbers, roadside parking of vehicles, and tinted vehicles being used by some staff and students.

The statement also directed that all unauthorized vehicles parked on campus be removed immediately, failing which university security will take appropriate action on such vehicles. Learner Permit must be placed on the vehicles of beginner drivers.

The Head of Security Unit and Dean of Student Affairs have been instructed to take action as stated in the statement. LAUTECH students have been advised to comply with the directive to ensure their safety and avoid any consequences that may arise from non-compliance.
