Latest on COASU/Poor funding of Kwara Colleges of Education

Following the alarm raised by the National body of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COASU) on the poor funding of three State Colleges of Education in Ilorin, Oro & Lafiagi, all in Kwara State.

The Provosts of the affected colleges have denied any knowledge of pushing their teachers against the State government, as currently being speculated.

Speaking on behalf of the other two provosts, Jimoh Ayinla who is the Acting Provost of College Of education Ilorin said the only interest of the provosts is the need to sustain peace in the various institutions, calling on the two parties to initiate moves for dialogue to address all the contending issues raised by the lecturers.

Meanwhile, the agitating lecturers of the affected colleges of education have insisted that the colleges must be adequately funded, while the 70% downward review of their salaries must be looked into for Peace to reign.
