Lagos Police reinforce security following the removal of MC Oluomo

Abiodun Alabi, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, has ordered all area commanders and divisional police officers to boost security and maintain visibility in their areas of responsibility.

This follows the indefinite suspension of Musiliu Akinsanya, the Lagos State Chapter Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), also known as MC Oluomo, for alleged misbehaviour, insubordination, and inciting state chapter members against the apex body.

In an interview with Channels Television on Thursday, the state police chief claimed that an order had been issued about the deployment and patrol of all automobile parks across the country.

He guaranteed Lagos residents of appropriate life and property security.

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) was suspended earlier today, and the police chief stated the decision was required to prevent any further violence.

In order to avoid a leadership vacuum in the state, the Transport Union further ordered MC Oluomo to immediately hand over the baton of leadership to his deputy chairman and deliver any property pertaining to the body in his control to the State Secretary.
