Following the unrelenting efforts of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to put a stop to the re-occurring cases of human trafficking, sexual harassment, abuses, molestation and domestic violence, amidst other related offences, in the country, the Anti – human Trafficking and Gender Unit of the Lagos State Command nabbed one (1) suspected paedophile, Akinbode Ridwan, male, aged twenty four 24yrs), who hails from Oyo and lives in Bariga (Lagos), stated, the Corps’ spokesman, DSC Abolurin Oluwaseun, in a statement to ngrdesk news.
The suspected paedophile was arrested, following due diligence, credible and actionable intelligence taken on him, by the Command’s personnel, since the matter was reported to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Gender Unit of NSCDC in the last one week.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect first had a carnal knowledge of his victim, when she was fifteen years old, in an uncompleted building, where he usually, lured her to about two years ago, year 2020, before he went to make another attempt on her in October, this year 2022, which finally led to his arrest by the security operatives.
The Anti-human and Gender Unit, of the Command, through its significant relationships, with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Human Right bodies and other relevant institutions, was able to partner with Women Against Rape International Foundation (WARIF), to conduct medical examination on the victim, in a bid to intensify investigations, bring the culprit to book and to teach other unrepentant perpetrators of this heinous and highly abominable crime a good lesson of their life.

The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps (CC) Edenabu Okoro Eweka, frowned at the unholy sexual entanglement and has ordered that the suspected culprit should be handed over to the appropriate agency of government for further investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.
