ISO 9001:2015: Federal Road Safety Corps Recertified

In accordance with global best practices, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has once again met all requirements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has thus been recertified by the Standard Organization of Nigeria for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standards in Road Safety Administration and Traffic Management (SON).

According to Bisi Kazeem, the Corps’ Spokesperson, the recertification followed a successful assessment of FRSC processes and procedures by System Auditors from SON, as well as other necessary actions carried out towards the Corps recertification.

It should be noted that the FRSC was originally certified for ISO 9001:2008 on March 26, 2013, in order to bring its operations in line with global best practices. On January 16, 2016, it converted to ISO 9001:2015 standards and has subsequently satisfied all requirements to maintain the accomplishment.

Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, was cited as stating about this great achievement: ” As the first and only law enforcement agency in Africa to achieve this rare feat, this recertification is a milestone that reflects the true disposition of the Corps as a determined organization that is committed to attaining excellence in all aspects of its operations and service delivery.”

While congratulating the entire workforce on their individual and collective contributions that resulted in the recertification, Oyeyemi stated that the achievement is a testament, evidence of a high level of professionalism, well-coordinated work processes, and quality service delivery in the workplace.

As a result, he promised the driving public that this accreditation will be maintained by increased productivity, professionalism, and effective service delivery.
