Delta State Police Command Arrested Armed Robbers and Fake Military Personnel
Delta State, Nigeria – The Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of suspected armed robbers and a fake military personnel, as well as the recovery of weapons and stolen property.
According to DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, the first incident occurred on March 12, 2023, when operatives of the Eagle-Net Special Squad intercepted a tricycle with registration number RRU 773 QK conveying three male occupants during intensive Aberdeen system patrol. The suspects were searched and a bag of rice was found to contain three locally made guns and one live cartridge. Two of the suspects fled into the bush, abandoning the tricycle and their accomplice, Ahmed Umaru, a 26-year-old rider from Ayingba LGA Kogi state, who was arrested. Efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects are ongoing.
In another development, the Delta State Command received information about a syndicate in Asaba planning to cause mayhem in the state while disguised as military personnel. CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc+, detailed a combined team from the department of operations “COBRA 11” comprising of operatives from response squad, Raiders Squad, and operations department. On March 12, 2023, at about 0630hrs, the team stormed their hideout around Okwe Axis Asaba in Oshimili South LGA and arrested the following suspects; Mike Okon, 27 years old, and Wilson Sunday, 24 years old, both from Cross-River state. When searched, army camouflage uniform, a pair of black jungle boots, three green Berets, and one black beret were recovered from the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

The Delta State Police Command has reassured residents of their commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state, and urged anyone with information that could assist the police to report to the nearest police station.
