Government making progress to complete power projects in Nigeria – Minister

The Minister of Power, Engr. Abubakar Aliyu, has said that the federal government is making progress in ensuring the speedy completion of key power projects in the country.

The Minister stated this during the 2022 budget defence before the Senate committee on power.

Engr. Aliyu listed some of the projects to include: Mambilla hydroelectric power project, the Zungeru hydroelectric power project, the Kashi-mbilla 40mw power station in Taraba State, among others.

Aliyu said the Kashi-mbilla power station in Taraba State is progressing towards completion by December 2021, to deliver another 40mw of renewable power.

The Minister also told the committee that the ministry’s 2022 budgetary allocation is N301 billion, of which, N294 billion is for capital.
