FRSC Lagos Sector Command Gets New Boss as Former Commander Bows Out

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos Sector Command has announced a change in leadership following the resumption of its former Sector Commander, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) at Kuru Jos. Ogungbemide, who had been in charge of the command for two years and eight months, left an enviable record behind as the command sustained its position as the best sector in HQ assessments for four consecutive sessions during his tenure. He also won the 2022 Best Sector Commander Award.

In a statement issued by the FRSC Public Education Officer, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi anipr, Ogungbemide appreciated the governor and people of Lagos, as well as stakeholders, for their support during his time in office, and urged them to extend the same support to the new Sector Commander.

The baton has been handed over to Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye, who has already resumed duties in a bid to ensure smooth deployment and activities of FRSC Lagos personnel for the forthcoming election. Farinloye, who hails from Ilesa East Local Area of Osun State and is happily married with children, attended Community Primary school in Kwara State, Erin Ile Secondary School also in Kwara State, and the University of Lagos (Unilag), where he studied Educational Administration.

To further empower his career capacity, Farinloye attended various courses, including the Officers Basic Course in Awgu, Enugu, in 1996, Train the trainers Course at FRSC Academy Jos in 2008, and Computer appreciation course at ESUT Enugu in 2012. Before his promotion to the rank of Corps Commander, he was the Head (Driving Proficiency Centre) Marshal Inspectorate Training school Owa Alero, and he was posted as the Sector Commander FRSC Lagos Sector Command.

In his address to the Sector heads of departments, Officers and Men during parade on Monday 27th February, 2023, Farinloye emphasized the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure that the Corps’ mandate is achieved. He also charged the staff not to lower the standard of taking Lagos Command to an enviable position during his tenure.
