First lady calls for gender inclusivity in societal development

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has called for more gender inclusivity in the scheme of affairs to enable women contribute to societal development.

The number one woman in the country made the call while speaking at a programme titled “Cracking the Glass Ceiling: the Story of Kwara women ” and signing of the state political offices (Gender Composition) Bill 2021 by the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq at the stadium complex in Ilorin

The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari who was represented by the Special Assistant to the President on administration and Women Affairs, Rukayatu Gurin, maintained that if women are given the opportunity, they will do more to support humanity.

In her address, the Minister for Women’s Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen, expressed satisfaction with the support for women and children in business, education, and health care.

Earlier in her remarks, the wife of Kwara state governor, Olufolake Abdulrazaq urged women to leverage the gender inclusiveness of the state government to do better.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has assented to an executive bill mandating the state to have at least 35% women appointees in the state executive council and other political appointments

With the assent of the governor, there is now no limit to the dreams and aspirations of every woman and girl irrespective of their religion or socio-cultural leanings.
