Delta State Police Command apprehends suspected kidnappers and armed robbers

In addition, it recovers one cut-to-size gun.

At the Delta State Police Command on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at about 9:30 pm, a kidnaped victim (name withheld) of Uvwiana Road, Agbarha, reported to the police that he was kidnaped along Esiso Street, Agbarho, stated the spokesman for the police command, DSP Bright Edafe.

The victim further stated that in the process of transferring him to another vehicle, he escaped from his abductors. 

He said, “Meanwhile the next day, Sunday, January 23, 2022, around 9:30 am, the victim spotted one of the hoodlums and he immediately alerted the DPO Agbarho Division CSP Samuel Ogwa, who swiftly mobilized and led the police operatives to the area where the suspect, named Godstime Rufus “M” age 22 years of Esiso Street, Agbarho, was arrested.” 

Upon further interrogation and investigation, the suspect led operatives to their hideout where two other suspects, namely,  Stanley Efeme “M” age 2 years old, of NEPA Line, and Davidson Esiso “M” age 35 years old, of 25 Osah Street Agbarho, were arrested and they were all identified by the victim. The investigation is ongoing, as noted by DSP Edafe.

According to the report, “In the year 2021, March 5th to be precise, a case of armed robbery was reported at Oleh Division that one man (name withheld) age 33 years old was shot and his Qlink Motorcycle was snatched from him by suspected armed robbers between Olomoro and Ehwne Communities in Isoko South LGA.”

The investigation was then initiated and the victim was taken to Olomro General Hospital where he was treated and discharged. 

Unluckily for the suspects, on Sunday, January 23, 2022, the victim spotted one of the hoodlums around Sagbama, Bayelsa State and he immediately alerted the Command. The Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali directed that operatives from Oleh Division proceed to Bayelsa State for a discreet investigation with a view to arresting the suspects. 

Upon an intelligence-led investigation, one George Akporie ‘m’ age 25 years old, Prosper Asaeta ‘m’ age 29 years and Eziekel Stephen ‘m’ age 23 years all of Igbide Community, Oleh were arrested at Sagbama in Bayelsa State. 

One locally-made gun was recovered from the suspects, and they will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
