Hon. Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos State, said the promise to deliver a greater Lagos has been fulfilled, as made by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos Governor, at the beginning of his administration.
The commissioner made this call during the official conference and unveiling of the re-election Brand Campaign at Radisson Blu, Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. The event with the theme: “A Greater Lagos Rising” was centered on achievements of the Governor’s plans to take Lagos to greater heights in the next four years when re-elected.
Omotoso noted that when the governor came in 2019 he promised to take Lagosians to a great level and looking at the achievement of the administrate in the past 3years, it evident that indeed the governor and his team has done a commendable job in Lagos and will deliver more on the mandate in the coming years.
Speaking on the theme of the campaign, the Honorable said: “The governor when he came in, he said he was going to take Lagosian to the journey of a greater Lagos and make Lagos greater and now we have seen signs of greatness all around us. Now we can see that the greater Lagos that he promised is rising, in the verse rapidly work that he has done, in education, urban transformation project, on about 970 roads he has done and 15 bridges, Lag ferries people are now taking through the waterways so all of this things that we have done shows that a greater Lagos that we promised is now rising.”
With all the programs that we have you see that in the next four years will be greater; all what will promise Lagoisians that we are going to do in the administration of Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat have been delivered.”
In the same vein, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Sam Ugube, commending the achievements of the administration also noted that the governor, an audacious person, has indeed delivered on the mandate as promised.
“I am excited to be part of this team, to be lead by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, I am excited about the audacity which I have experience, when we came in we never knew COVID was going to be on the arisen, we thought it will bring us to our needs because the world actually went on it knees in respect of COVID. Lagos rose in the wake of the battle led by Mr. Governor, he knew he was not just carrying the burden of Lagos but of Nigeria, he knew that if the frontiers of Lagos were conquered with the COVID then Nigeria would go on its knees.”
Speaking on how much respect accord to Lagos state around the world, he said: “We are excited about the regards that have gotten around the world, the interrogation to see how Lagos did it; we did it because we have an exciting, courageous, audacious, capable commander the person of Mr. Babatunde Sanwo-Olu. Looking at all the things Mr. Governor has done then you will know that indeed Lagos is rising.”
On his part, Honorable Conillius Oyefolu Ojelabi, the Lagos State APC chairman, added that more than any other thing today has bring another opportunity to show the beauty of democracy, to give a feedback on what Mr. Governor and his team has been able to do with the mandate given to them about four years ago.
His words: “It has been a score card that we are all proud of as a party, we are proud of the achievement of the governor and the members of the team. It has been a fulfillment of the social contract between him and the people of Lagos state. Form what we have seen, we believe strongly and furthermore still endorse Mr. Governor that he has done us proud and believe that Lagosians will generously renew that mandate.”
“This government has been very inclusive in terms of touching every corner of our state and every sector in Lagos state. It’s also important to note that this government has ensured that no project has been abandoned, all projects that he inherited from his predecessor have been completed, he said.
